The American Library Association E-Rate Task Force (ERTF) developed this site to be an aggregator of and home for resources to assist libraries in understanding and better utilizing E-Rate funding.
The E-Rate Modernization Order from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has highlighted the importance of strong connections and networks for schools and libraries in the Broadband Age. This has shifted funds from telecommunications to infrastructure. Historically, libraries have been wary of applying for infrastructure funds due to the lack of availability of these funds and a lack of understanding of the more complicated services covered by infrastructure. Although libraries across the nation were quick to adopt wireless networks, many of the components that established these networks have aged.
So, what’s a library to do now to enhance and improve their services? This site will guide users at every level to appropriate resources.
